The Art in the Cellar: A Year of Us
2023 was full of milestones and satisfactions, such as the consolidation of the "ARTE IN CANTINA" project born from the close and heartfelt collaboration between Monte del Frà and Milanese art and design space 6499.
This path was born with the shared goal of demonstrating the deep interconnection between the worlds of wine and art, two spheres that are apparently different but together can create memorable and unexpected experiences.
Through the succession of five temporary exhibitions set up between 2022 and 2023, we saw strong interest from wine lovers and art enthusiasts from all over Italy (and beyond!) who were won over by this new kind of experience.

Below are the highlights of this beautiful year marked by excellent wines and notable artistic works!
September 2022: we inaugurate the project with the first artist, VITALIANO MARCHETTO
The exhibition titled WA is an unparalleled success, thanks to the uniqueness of Vitaliano's works. Robust sculptures made of iron and concrete have enhanced our winery's interior and exterior with extreme elegance. Creations intended to convey harmony, serenity, and moderation, qualities also sought after in Monte del Frà wines.
March 2023: ART WINERY is born, a group exhibition that becomes a wine tourism experience
Why settle for presenting the works of a single artist when we can curate an itinerary that showcases multiple artistic visions? This question sparked the creation of ART-WINERY, a dynamic collective exhibition that not only fascinated but also revealed the intricate layers of our wine. This vibrant exhibition, teeming with potential, laid the foundation for our new winery experience, "ART AND WINE." This interactive and thrilling wine-tasting journey will pair our wines' flavors with the artwork's observation, promising to excite both adults and children.
"Every exhibition, every artist, imparts a lesson and leaves a lasting impression," shares Silvia Bonomo, the owner. "Their creativity inspires us to infuse innovation and culture into our winery tours, creating a unique experience for our visitors."
April 2023: artist SABRINA FERRARI's presentation.
If the enthusiasm for the ART WINERY project had already been widely shared through the exhibition of artist Sabrina Ferrari, it would have grown further.
Thanks to the magnificence of her works, such as the vast bronze giraffe erected in front of the winery and visible from many meters away, she was able to arouse the interest of a broad audience, creating awe and wonder. We share with her the constant desire for research and innovation, values we try to express daily through our wine.
June 2023 and MERIEM DELACROIX - representing wine in a painting is possible.
Artist Meriem, through her synaesthetic sensibility, that is, the ability to contaminate the senses in perception, teaches us to "listen" to images, smell colors, and touch scents through her abstract paintings. This is how her painting "Cà del Magro," named after our most representative wine, was born.
September 2023: we inaugurate the fall season with artist CLAUDIO ROLFI
The pictorial work of this artist from Turin fits light-heartedly and carefree into the interior spaces of our winery, the ideal combination for our convivial wines, such as Custoza DOC, Bardolino DOC, and Chiaretto DOC.
"His views of suburban areas of the city and his hot air balloons struck me and motivated me to accompany this exhibition with wines that can give complex sensations but are also simple and easy to approach," says Silvia Bonomo.
The invaluable contribution of 6499 Milan, the avant-garde art and design space that orchestrated and promoted each event with finesse, is a testament to the strength of our collaboration.
The fusion of our winery's winemaking expertise and 6499's artistic brilliance created a kaleidoscope of experiences where art, culture, and wine intertwine to form a single, indelible sensory narrative.
Through this transformative collaboration, 'Art in the Cellar' was not just an event. It was a cultural milestone, a bridge that led us to new horizons of appreciation and sharing, inspiring us to see wine and art in a new light.
