A creed firmly rooted at Monte del Frà that became a mantra and, eventually, complete identification with our territory, its rhythms, and its originality.
The deep knowledge of each vine's characteristics within the owned 137 ha (338 acres) and rented 68 ha (168 acres) on the classified Veronese denominations (Valpolicella, Custoza, Lugana, Soave, Bardolino) allows us to let the terroir and its characteristics define themselves and spread their utmost genuine and authentic expressions.
It all started with the Custoza vineyards embedded in a unique post-glacial moraine landscape. The soil's parcels are vinified separately, along with a meticulous zonation process. Eventually, Monte del Frà mastered the art of blending and has become synonymous with Custoza worldwide.
The Lugana-vineyards are among the last DOC-classified territories acquired by Monte del Frà. Being located in the golden triangle between Desenzano, Sirmione, and Peschiera, their Turbiana Grapes are influenced by the chilly nights of Lake Garda and the soils rich in clays and silts of the area. Perfect circumstances for highly elegant and long-living lake wines.
These native Veronese Valpolicella vineyards give birth to the Bardolino DOC Monte del Frà, a crisp wine perfumed with fruity and floral notes. On the south of the classic Bardolino area, in the subzone Sommacampagna, an old vineyard with outstanding characteristics offers us a unique chance to create elegant yet easy-drinking wines with a special touch. That is thanks to a particular vinification that enhances the crispness and the style's typical nature.
Surrounded by woods and a breathtaking panorama, the 18 ha (44.5 acres) of the Lena di Mezzo estate in Fumane are located below the La Salette sanctuary. History, elegance, and territorial complexity are the key elements of Monte del Frà's stylistic credo. In this extraordinary territory, they find a new mainspring.
The Valpolicella (namely Val polis cellae, The valley of many cellars) is a place where each village and vineyard distinct themselves.
The vinification, harvesting, and wilting take place in San Pietro in Cariano, a modern structure with air-conditioned wilting premises able of controlled wilting of up to 300 tons of grapes. Thus, we can preserve the crispness and elegance of every single grape and ensure that technology becomes a tool to unfold the complexity and elegance of a true Valpolicella wine.
