Monte del Frà is among the 150 Italian wineries selected by Wine Spectator for OperaWine 2027. This international recognition celebrates the Bonomo family’s winemaking journey and the leadership of Marica Bonomo, CEO of the winery, whose inclusion in the new Led by Women category places her among 46 outstanding female-led Italian wine producers.

Organized by Veronafiere in collaboration with Vinitaly and Wine Spectator, OperaWine is one of the most prestigious events on the Italian wine calendar. The exclusive tasting brings together a selection of producers representing teh very best of Italian winemaking, offering international media, opinion leaders and wine professionals a journey through Italy’s remarkable wine regions, appellations and iconic wines.
The 2027 edition will take place on April 10 at the Gallerie Mercatali in Verona, on the eve of Vinitaly. The 150 selected wineries are divided into three categories: Legacy Icons, Classic and the newly introduced Led by Women, recognizing the contribution of women to the growth and identity of Italian wine.
For Monte del Frà, its inclusion in the Led by Women category holds special meaning. It recognizes a leadership philosophy deeply rooted in family history, continuously renewed through dialogue between generations.

Founded in 1958 by Massimo Bonomo, Monte del Frà was born among the rolling morainic hills of Custoza, between Verona and Lake Garda. A landscape shaped by ancient glaciers, where the land preserves traces of the distant past and wine becomes an expression of memory, patience and craftsmanship.
Today, guided by the second and third generations, the Bonomo family continues to interpret this territory through a philosophy that recognizes time as an essential value: the time vines need to grow, wines need to mature and people need to shape the future.
Wine Spectator’s selection adds another chapter to a story that, from the heart of Custoza, continues to share Monte del Frà’s identity with the world.
