In addition to being a land of vineyards since ancient times, the Custoza region is steeped in history. Its ancient fortresses stand as living witnesses to this rich past. Among the most remarkable, ideal for a visit after a wine tasting at our estate, are:

• Rocca di Solferino: Located just 25 minutes away from Custoza, this imposing fortress overlooks the surrounding landscape. It is most famous for being the site of the 1859 battle during the Second Italian War of Independence. Beyond its historical significance, it offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding countryside and Lake Garda.
• Rocca di San Marino della Battaglia: A perfectly preserved medieval site, situated on a hill that offers a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. This location witnessed significant events during the Italian Renaissance Wars, marking the region’s history.
• Rocca di Castelnuovo del Garda: Built in the 9th century, this fortress with a rich and fascinating history provides an incredible view over Lake Garda. The visit is especially magical at sunset, when the sun sets behind the mountains, creating breathtaking landscapes.

Just a short distance from our winery, hidden among the morainic hills of Lake Garda, lie the historic villages of Valeggio sul Mincio and Borghetto. These charming locations attract visitors from around the world.

Borghetto, in particular, is a lovely medieval village situated on the banks of the Mincio River. With its picturesque atmosphere, stone houses, water mills, and ancient bridges, it offers a romantic and enchanting setting. The village is also known for its local cuisine, especially the tortellini of Valeggio sul Mincio, a traditional dish from the Verona region. Tamburino Sardo Trail: Sport, Flavors, and Nature in Custoza

Among the most enjoyable activities to do before (or after) a wine tasting at our estate, we recommend the famous Tamburino Sardo loop trail, which starts from the center of Custoza (San Pietro in Vinculis Church Square). This trail is named after Tamburino Sardo, a legendary figure who is said to have played the drum to warn the Italian troops of the enemy's arrival during the 1866 Battle of Custoza. This easy-to-follow route is about 3 km long and loops around Mount Croce (153 meters above sea level). Completely immersed in the countryside, it offers an opportunity to discover the picturesque landscape of the morainic hills, dotted with vineyards and interesting natural sites, while echoing the history of the Risorgimento that made these lands famous.

Although few people know it, just a few kilometers from our estate, in Valeggio sul Mincio, lies the beautiful Sigurtà Park, a 60-hectare natural garden, awarded in 2013 as the most beautiful park in Italy and in 2015 as the second most beautiful park in Europe. An extraordinary destination that is absolutely worth a visit for several reasons:

1. Natural Richness: The park is filled with meadows, small lakes, fountains, and carefully maintained gardens, offering breathtaking landscapes in every season.
