Surrounded by woods and a breathtaking panorama, the 18 hectares/44.5 acres of the Lena di Mezzo estate form the heart of the Valpolicella Classica and dominate the landscape below the La Salette sanctuary. The Valpolicella (namely Val polis cellae, The valley of many cellars) is where each commune and vineyard distinct themselves through their very own nature.
The vinification, harvesting, and wilting take place in San Pietro in Cariano, a modern structure with air-conditioned wilting premises able of controlled wilting of up to 300 tons of grapes. Thus, we can preserve the crispness and elegance of every single grape and ensure that technology becomes a tool to unfold the complexity and elegance of a true Valpolicella wine.
This Valpolicella is a classic in terms of style due to its harvest area and elegance. Yet, it never fails to surprise with its soul, its ruby-red color, and aromatic complexity with delicate notes of lavender and violet. Black and red berries evolve in the glass and on the palate, revealing final notes of plum, cherry, and licorice. Not to be missed.
Perfect with cold cuts, grilled cheeseburgers, tacos, stir-fried chicken and roasted summer vegetables. Excellent pairing also with mushrooms, pizza and schnitzel.
Destemming and soft crushing. Fermentation in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Once the malolactic fermentation is over, the wine rest in steel tanks for few months before being bottled and released to the market.
