During the summer season, it is common to find fresh cherry tomatoes, basil, and Italian burrata on the market: ingredients and scents that combined can give us tasty and light dishes, perfect for preparing quick appetizers without too much effort.

This article proposes an appetizer inspired by the most authentic Mediterranean flavors: crostini with burrata, fresh cherry tomatoes, and Parma ham paired with the famous rosé wine from Lake Garda: Chiaretto di Bardolino Doc. It is a harmonious combination thanks to the fresh, fine, and slightly fruity style of this rosé wine that complements the delicacy and creaminess of this appetizer.

WINE:

Serving temperature 10°C - 12°C recommended in a white wine glass with a wider base than the rim.

Once the wine is served, place the bottle of Chiaretto di Bardolino Doc in a wine cooler, to maintain the temperature and facilitate service to all guests.

RECIPE:

Ingredients for  6-8 people

• A loaf of homemade bread or whole grain bread
  250 g of mixed yellow and red cherry tomatoes
• 300 g of burrata cheese
• 100 g of Parma ham
• Fresh basil
• Extra virgin olive oil
• Salt
• Pepper

Preparation:

Wash and cut the cherry tomatoes into wedges, placing them in a bowl. Then season them with extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, and chopped fresh basil leaves. Mix well and let it marinate.

Cut 4 large slices from the bread, and toast them on both sides in a pan with a drizzle of oil.

Once they reach the desired crispiness and golden color, place them on a work surface and cut them in half to obtain 8 crostini.

Distribute the shredded burrata on the surface, dividing it evenly.

Also place the seasoned cherry tomatoes and slices of Parma ham, decorating with fresh basil and a drizzle of oil.

The crostini are ready!
